Gold Plating Services for La Jolla and UTC
From the Torrey Pines mesa to the village, La Jolla generates two very different kinds of plating work — research hardware and fine personal pieces — and both are better served by a lab thirty-five minutes up I-5 than by a mail-in service. We handle La Jolla, UTC and University City from our Vista facility.

Research hardware is usually one-of-a-kind, and that is the argument for staying local. A machined electrode body or cryostat component that took a campus machine shop three weeks to produce should not spend two of the next four weeks in a shipping network. Lab managers and grad students from the Torrey Pines mesa can hand-carry parts up I-5 and discuss thickness targets with us directly — we quote from photos first, so the trip only happens once a number is agreed.
The same logic protects an heirloom. A worn Rolex bezel or a great-grandmother's locket from a village jeweler gets photographed, quoted in writing, and driven — not shipped — to our counter in Vista. For UTC professionals, the drive pairs naturally with a North County commute.
We answer at (760) 458-3299, Monday through Friday 8 to 5. Projects start at a $500 minimum, priced at $100 per square inch of plated surface.
Local Industries We Work With
The Torrey Pines research corridor — UC San Diego, Scripps Research, the Salk Institute and the biotech campuses around them — is one of the highest concentrations of laboratory science on the West Coast, and laboratories are steady consumers of gold-plated electrodes, sensor contacts and custom instrument hardware. Down the hill, the village supports jewelers, galleries and collectors whose restoration work calls for the same lab discipline applied to smaller, more sentimental objects.
